Went for a haircut in the morning. Walked in & not one customer was in the store. And the gentleman working said “sorry appointment only & the hours are wrong we have to pay to change them” i needed a neck trim that takes 5 min and he wouldnt do it because i didnt have an appointment with zero people in the shop or waiting. No wonder they can’t afford to update their hours they are turning away local customers that could potentially be repeats & turning away money. Never going back plenty of places to choose from where they treat you right. The owner should rethink his business module.

Benjamin at Straightedge has cut my hair a few times now. I was looking for a barber after my last one didn't work out that well. Also, I wanted to support a local business. Having abandoned my previous barber, I had a mop of poorly cut hair. Benjamin spent five to ten minutes talking to me about how I would like my hair cut then spent a solid 60 minutes cutting it. In the subsequent visits he continues to demonstrate a lot of pride in his work. His experience and attention to detail make for a perfect cut every time. I would highly recommend him to anyone. In addition to his skill as a barber, the vibe of his shop is really cool and he always has some good music playing on the TV.

Tried visiting a while back when I was sporting an undercut. While it is apparent that they do good work I do not believe they are good workers. I walked in and asked about the appointment process, prices, etc. They were very condescending and chuckled incessantly. I guess they've never seen a female in a barber shop? When I explained that I wanted an undercut with a design one of the barbers rudely cut me off before I was even done talking and said "We don't do that here". If they're such great barbers I don't understand what the big deal was to help a chick out and do an undercut. I was new to the area and was willing to go without the design. I really just needed it cut but I'm picky with my hair so instead of going just anywhere I came here because it looked legit. I ended up planning around my schedule to go see my cousin in Long Beach who also does my hair every now and then. Eventually I found Chuy at Cali Clips, a barbershop not too far from this one. He was very nice and once I explained what I was looking for he fit me into his schedule and gave me the best cut ever. I ended up going to him about every 3 weeks for a year. Don't waste your time with this place. You can find better barbers with better attitudes and better prices.

Great place to get a hair detail. I say detail because that's what you get for a full hour. They will take there time to perfect your hair. Any style you want just ask for ben. Only thing is that you can't just walk in and get a cut. You have to make a appointment. But believe me it very worth the wait . They are by far the best in all San diego. He has clients that come all the way from downtown for a hair cut if that doesn't say quality then you must be high! 😂

This place is awesome. I have been shaving my own head for a lot of years. I recently wanted to change it up. Went here for the first time and they were really nice. Helped me figure out what to do. And got my beard trimmed up too! This is the spot if you have hair and haven’t been here your are missing out big time. Will definitely be returning, I mean if you can make this mug beautiful you definitely have some serious skills!

Decent haircut, but pretty mediocre. Lined my sideburns up very unevenly. Not confident in his abilities for what I asked for. Didn’t get a good vibe from this place either. For the amount of attention to detail I would’ve thought the cut would’ve turned out much better. I don’t think I’ll be back... The shop might have changed hands also because the inside looks different than pictures and I believe the owners name is Nick, not Ben (not positive).
